Simulate the traffic of a real neighbourhood in your browser
transito-analyzer builds the Road Network of any place from OpenStreetMap, runs a microscopic traffic simulation over it and ranks the Bottlenecks. It is free, needs no account and runs on your own device.
How it works
1. Pick a Region
Search for a place or drag the map, then choose a radius of up to 3 km (2 km on a phone). The streets inside the circle become the Road Network.
2. Load the Road Network
The server fetches the OpenStreetMap ways inside the Region and turns them into Segments, Intersections, Signals, Entries and Exits, with the one-way rules, lane counts and speed limits mapped there.
3. Run and tune
Press Start. Vehicles enter through the Entries at a Flow preset per Road Class; the Intensity slider scales all of them at once. Change a Signal's Cycle or an Entry's Flow and watch the Queues move.
What you get
- Every Segment coloured by Congestion, the ratio of its current speed to free-flow speed, updated live.
- A ranking of the worst Bottlenecks over the last ten simulated minutes: Delay, Vehicles per hour, longest Queue and Spillback.
- Editable Signal timing and Entry Flows, three Intensity presets and simulation speeds up to 16 times real time.
- A link that reproduces the run: same Region, same seed, identical result on any device.
What it is not
The model keeps one lane per direction, no lane changing and default Signal timings from the Road Classes, so it shows where a Road Network tends to queue up, not a certified traffic study. The methodology page lists every default and limitation.
